What StarkLLM Is

StarkLLM is a private, local-first AI assistant for Windows. It lets you chat with open-weight Large Language Models (LLMs) and interrogate your own documents using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Every core workflow in the StarkLLM software runs locally on your machine—no documents, prompts, or embeddings are ever sent to a cloud provider.

This is a free Research Beta. It is highly capable for technical users, but it is not a closed commercial SaaS product. You are responsible for providing capable hardware, choosing your models via Ollama, and evaluating the outcomes of your AI interactions.

Why It Exists

The standard paradigm of AI requires handing your sensitive documents—legal cases, medical records, or proprietary code—to remote corporate servers. StarkLLM was built to prove that you can achieve powerful, document-grounded AI intelligence while maintaining strict data privacy.

Who It Is For

StarkLLM is built for researchers, developers, legal professionals, and privacy advocates who require a secure environment for document analysis and refuse to compromise on data privacy.

Transparency Note: While the StarkLLM application itself contains zero network telemetry or tracking, this public website (starkllm.com) uses self-hosted, cookieless, GDPR-compliant Umami analytics to understand aggregate documentation visits without tracking personal identifiers.
